Scalpellum: A Platform for Precision,Progress, and Passion in Surgery

Abstract

We are honored to present the inaugural issue of Scalpellum: Journal of Surgery, marking the launch of a platform dedicated to advancing surgical science, practice, and dialogue. Born from a collective aspiration to create a journal that transcends specialty boundaries and geographic limitations, Scalpellum reflects the evolving landscape of modern surgery—characterized by technological innovation, interdisciplinary collaboration, and a renewed focus on leadership and compassion. Guided by our core values of Precision, Progress, and Passion, we aim to inspire not only through rigorous evidence-based research but also through the human stories that define the surgical profession. This first issue features a diverse collection of original research, surgical techniques, reviews, and case reports, and will be launched at the 1st Riau Educational Surgery Meeting (RESUME) 2025. We envision Scalpellum as a living, dynamic resource for the global surgical community, committed to nurturing both seasoned and emerging voices in surgery. Welcome to the beginning of this journey.
